Adrian College Holds 2018 Spring Commencement Ceremony

On Sunday, April 29th, Adrian College held their 2018 Spring Commencement Ceremony. Lauren Aiello gave a student address top open the day. The college then inducted Paul deLespinasse, Ph.D. into the Faculty Hall of Fame for his achievements.

Honorary degrees were given to Mr. Stephen H. Swigart and Margaret L. Johnson, Ph.D. After receiving her honorary degree from the institution, Doctor Johnson then served as the commencement speaker. The speech that she delivered was titled: “Changing the World through Innovation.”

The traditional Cane ceremony took place, where the graduating class presents the Shepherd’s Crook to the undergraduates as a symbol of achievement and transfer of responsibility.

After the Cane ceremony was a reading of a letter to parents, written by Mr. Thomas Doney. This emotional time is where the graduating seniors thank those that have made sacrifices to help their children accomplish what they desire to do.

The ceremony concluded with the students receiving their graduate and undergraduate degrees.
